Laziz
It all started with garbanzo beans, a vision and 2 partners in life and business. After prevailing in their landmark case against the State of Utah (Kitchen v Herbert, 2013) which brought marriage equality to the 10th circuit and created the critical case law for the freedom to marry nationwide. Derek Kitchen and Moudi Sbeity began selling homemade hummus to their colleagues and friends, and then at the farmer’s market. This opened up the opportunity for catering, cooking classes, and an expanded product line in stores. As their popularity grew, so did their dreams, and in November 2016, Laziz Kitchen opened its first location to the Salt Lake City community, while Derek began his journey in local politics. Laziz opened their Sugar House Station location on July 1st 2026.
Pizza Bar
Pizza Bar brings Roman-inspired pizza al taglio to Sugar House Station, featuring pizza by the slice cooked in rectangular steel trays. Crafted by Chef Brandon Price, known for his expertise in fermentation and sourdough, and Chef Phelix Gardner of Pago Group, Pizza Bar serves up a deliciously authentic slice, with a focus on the best ingredients and a truly unique pizza experience in Salt Lake City.

At Sugar House Station, Proper Brewing Co. pours a rotating lineup of house-brewed beers alongside a menu of signature burgers, fries, and salads from Proper Burger. Waterpocket Distillery
